Laser Tattoo Revision - Fading

Beauty by Laser specialise in the process of Laser Tattoo Removal Revision. We are here to work with you in your decision to fade back your existing Tattoo to make way for a new design.

While some people may believe Laser Tattoo removal is just for removing unwanted ink, its not uncommon for clients to come to us to have their tattoo faded so that it can be revised or covered up due to:

  • First Tattoo and don’t like it anymore
  • Want a new Tattoo in a prime position
  • Bad Design choice

Every Tattoo is unique so when deciding to have one covered up or faded your Tattoo artist will likely recommend laser treatment to make your skin easier to work with. Fading the existing ink even just a little can give your artist a better chance at adding more definition to the new work.

How The Treatment Works?

Our powerful Q switched & Pico lasers deliver an extremely short pulse of laser energy, that heats the tattoo pigments exponentially. This leads to a shattering of pigment particles and a release of tattoo pigment from skin cells which can then be removed via the body’s immune system.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Typically, it will take fewer treatments to fade the Tattoo than normal because you are not completely removing the ink.  Ultimately, it will be up to you and your artists preference of how light you need to get the original tattoo in order to apply the cover up.

Does Laser Tattoo Removal Hurt?

Depending on the location of the tattoo, this treatment can be uncomfortable.
We use a Zimmer machine Cryo 6 cooling system the effectively cools the skin before and during the treatment.

Is Tattoo Revision Safe?

Yes, Laser tattoo revision is safe with an experienced and licensed operator. At Beauty by Laser Mel the owner has more than 20 years’ experience.
The laser light energy is attracted to the dark ink particles, so the surrounding tissue is unaffected. Laser tattoo removal is safer than getting a tattoo as there is less risk of infection.

After The Treatment
An application of soothing gel will be applied to the and an ice pack given if needed. You will be advised by your laser specialist the necessary aftercare procedure.
